Nikon FE
Nikkor 50mm 1:2 8-1/1000 s. 1978
The Nikon FE is a single-lens reflex camera that was introduced in 1978. The FE was designed as a smaller and lightweight alternative to the FM, with a focus on ease of use and faster operation.
One of the biggest improvements of the FE was the electronic shutter, instead of a mechanical one like in the Nikon FM. Unlike the FM, which could only be operated with mechanical settings, the FE could also be operated with electronic settings.
The FE was smaller and lighter than its predecessors. This made it a popular choice for photographers looking for a compact and manageable camera.
